Exclamation HELP!! Installed this software and can NO LONGER SYNC

I tried to install this software, and now my HP 4355 (activesync 3.8) will NOT sync at all. I've tried re-installing activesync and uninstalling your product. I'm wondering if it copied over some system files?? It's running Windows Mobile 2003. Thanks for any help. Jim

There should not be anything in PDACookbook that would stop it from syncing. In fact, we don't fully support Activesync merge yet, so there is very little PDACookbook does that affect ActiveSync.

Try resetting the handheld with the reset button on the back - soft reset.

You can also try uninstalling and removing PDACookbook on the handheld to see if that makes a difference.

We have not had a report like this before.

Thanks for your help

Don't know if this was just a coincidence...after resetting the handheld several times, it came up with a message that it couldn't connect with the desktop. I will try reinstalling your software and see what happens Thanks for the quick response. Jim

windows mobile 2003

I have the same problem with my system. Windows XP pro and a PDA with windows mobile 2003.
The only way I could get my PC to work correctly and my PDa to sync again was to uncheck PDAcookbook from the activesync options.
I have not yet figure out how to progress from here to load the recipes on my PDA.

The problem for me appeared to be...

the fact that I had the password feature turned ON. The pdaCookbook was trying to install before the password was put in? Dunno, but the next time I installed it, I really quickly entered the password (on screen, not on PDA) before things got out of hand. Product works great now, and by the way, I really am enjoying using it!! Jim

JimF,

Glad to hear it is working.

For anyone else reading this thread, be sure to have the latest version installed from our download page:
Download Page

After installing, run PDACookbook once on the PDA, then close it with the Close menu command, not the (X) in the upper right corner than only hides apps.

Be sure the checkbox for PDACookbook is checked in ActiveSync under tools/options.

Be sure you are installing to main memory on the PDA and not to RAM.

Also, be sure the PDACookbook software on the PC is NOT running.

Thanks.
