please help i really need this software to work here goes....
ive today downloaded and intalled pda cookbook all seemed to go well.
i use a windows xp profesional desktop, didnt have a memory card in my pda (witch runs windows mobile second edition version4.21.1088 with active sync version 3.7.1) i have no problems syncing anything else.
The desktop software runs fine and i have no problems with anything i do with it appart from transfering recipies to my pda, upon originall installation the software set up on my pda fine appart from there were no recipes.
when i press tools/options ,on active sync there is no mention of a checkbox (appname) (i presume the appname may be pda cookbook but theres no mention of pda cookbook either) i can go to active sync tools/add-remove programs and pda cookbook is listed as installed.
The only way i can transfer recipes to my pda is by opening pda cookbook on my desktop pressing file/transfer pc data to hand held, this would be all i need as i dont plan on updating my recipes that often but this is what happens.
The dialog box (saying transfer data to handheld make sure pda cookbook is closed on the hand held). press ok .so i close pda cookbook on my pda (ive also tryed closing it in my background running programs aswell as just exiting the program) the dialog box CASLcdi2ppc comes up and starts transfering with blue bar running accross, all seems to be going well untill it gets to the Transfering PDA Cookbook Units part where i get a dialog box with a white cross on a red circle saying Access Violation at address 004525FE in module 'CASLcdi2ppc.exe'. Read address 000000000. and the transfer stops and when opening the program on my pda some of the recipes have transfered but a lot are missing

Im sorry if that all sounds very garbled but i tryed to explain as best i could, i really want to get this sorted so i can purchase the licsence as this program would be alot of help to me please someone help .......:)

still no joy downloaded update still no recipes on pda, no mention of pda cookbook on active sync (except add remove programs) when i tryed to transfer data to pda got CASLcdi2ppc dialog box saying active sync must be running and a pocketpc conected to use ( there was a bit more but it disapeared before i could write it down). active sync was running and my pocket pc was connected , the process just stopped.
so i unintalled pda cookbook on my desktop and pda and did a fresh full install then ran the update again this is what happened then, still no recipies on pda , no mention of pda cookbook on active sync ( except add remove programs) when i tryed to transfer data to pda got CASLcdi2ppc dialog box saying unable to create database on target device application will exit. then another box saying acces violation at address 004525FE in module 'CASLcdi2ppc.exe'. Read address 00000000 .
and no recipes were transfered

Due to issues with Activesync 4, we are not using Activesync right now.

You can transfer data with the File / Transfer... menu command in the desktop software.

Be sure that you close the software on the handheld using the Close menu item at the bottom of the screen. Using the (X) in the upper right corner only hides the application.

ok i understand your isues with active sync 4
but i have version 3.8, and although i would like the active sync aspect of your software iam not that bothered about it as i will only be updating my recipes occasionally and iam quite happy using the file commands on the desktop software to transfer data the only problem is as explained earlier this does not work and as previously mentioned iam aware of how to stop the program running on my pda before transfering data.
The current situation is that (after connecting my pda making sure pda cookbook is not running on the pda) when i use the file commands to transfer data all goes well untill it gets to the units part where i get a dialog box saying Access violation at address 004525FE in module 'CASLcdi2ppc.exe'. read address 00000000 and the transfer terminates. upon opening the program on my pda only 529 of my 976 recipes have transfered:(

We have released the new PDACookbook Plus Version 5. This new version works on Palm OS and Windows Mobile devices, including Windows Mobile smartphones that do not have a touch screen.

We will be emailing all PDACookbook users directly within the next several days to notify them of the new version. Existing users can upgrade for $9.99.

If you want to upgrade sooner, you can use the link below to have the upgrade information sent to you. Please enter the email used when ordering to verify eligibility.
http://www.wakefieldsoft.com/cgi-bin/request-upgrade.pl

We recommend that you use the File / Backup menu command to backup your existing data to a safe location (other than the default). Also, do not uninstall the existing version yet. Once version 5 is installed, you can use the File / Import menu item to import all old version data.

Downloads and a complete list of new features (further down the page) are here:
