I'm trying to install Loan Expert. It shows up in the Add/Remove Program window and let's me check the box, but it doesn't install on the MDA. When I return to the Add/Remove window, the check box for Loan Expert is no longer checked. Any ideas?

What is the exact brand and model of the handheld?

What is the operating system on the handheld?

What version of Activesync is installed on your PC?

Have you tried the latest installer from:
http://www.wakefieldsoft.com/loanexpert/download.html

Thanks.

Make sure the handheld is connected during the install process. It also would not hurt to do a soft reset before running the installer again.

We are seeing some issues with Activesync 4 that are being worked. We are testing a fix that works for most all WM5 users with AS4.

Please try downloading and running this installer:
http://www.wakefieldsoft.com/beta/loanexpertplus-setup.exe

Then, you can transfer data using the commands in the File menu on the PC software. It won't auto-sync with Activesync 4 at this time due to some issues (thank you Microsoft).

Hi Shawn,
It got closer this time using the last installer link, but on the handheld, a message popped up saying:

"Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed becasue it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate".

There seems to be no option on the handheld to 'install anyway'.

You may be out of luck.

It appears that handheld is preventing any 3rd party software from being installed unless it is 'signed' (i.e. pay a lot of money for someone to call our software 'signed')

I would suggest contacting the manufacturer to see if they can tell you how to install the software anyway. There may be a setting on the device that can be changed.
