Trying to install on Windows Mobile 2005 device with ActiveSync 4.1
The install doesn't seem to see the device connected to the computer and says it will download files on the next connection...but it never does. Then I get two error messages: it can't create the remote database and it couldn't transfer a DBFile.
If I install the update mentioned in this thread (http://www.wakefieldsoft.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=587&highlight=on+the+next+connection+downloaded) the program does install to the PDA but with only 5 recipes. Then, when it attempts to synchronize in ActiveSync it leaves unresolved items. If I open PDACookbook on the PC and do File->Transfer to Handheld, I get the same messages that it cannot create the remote database and can't transfer files.
I have completely removed and reinstalled the PDA Cookbook and ActiveSync from both the PC and PDA...no luck.
Any ideas?
If it helps, this is a Dell Axim x51v.
thanks
I am also having problems. I am trying to also remove this from the activesync and just use the manual sync from the desktop app; however I can not get to the options for all the failures.
AppName: wcesmgr.exe AppVer: 4.1.4841.0 ModName: caslsync.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 000075f4
AppName: wcesmgr.exe AppVer: 4.1.4841.0 ModName: caslsync.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00003404
I was ale to get to the options and disable automatic sysc. I guess manual sync with the desktop application will be ok for now.

We are working on the Activesync 4.x issues. We hope to know more in a few weeks.
In the meantime, the latest version 4.1.2 does have the manual transfer commands in the File menu that should work for most users until we have this completely fixed.

Did the new version fix this problem that you just released?

No fix yet, but we are getting closer. Our developer is working on this now.

We are testing the fix for WM5. We still have a few issues to take care of, but it is progressing.
I am sorry for the continued delays, but Activesync 4 was definitely not compatible like Activesync 3 on older devices.

I've been following along with thread waiting for the WM5 update, glad to see you got one out.
I have a Verizon XV6700 that runs WM5 and installed PDA Cookbook Plus (I previously had it on my Palm, so I'm familiar with the program). I was able to get my data on it, but it always created an error during the sync which resulted in multiple entries, one for each sync attempt.
I've installed the update, but the CAB file would not install on my device. I was able to transfer the data from my desktop to the PDA, edit it on the PDA and transfer back to the desktop, all using the manual commands in the File menu on the desktop.
When I first attempted the manual transfer it popped up a window instructing me run "CASLarm.exe" or something similar, but that was only the first time.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

We would love to, and we will be working toward that, but it simply runs better on Palm at the present time - the OS is less quirky and more stable. (but that is a whole other discussion)

Thanks... I appreciate it... Since I know that as user of this program I look foward to having it as stable as the PALM or even better.
