I recently got a new computer and had to re-install PDA Cookbook, and now it won't sync with my Tungsten E2. I have the same version on both my computer and my Palm (version 4.0.0). Can you help? Thanks.

Usually this happens if the software was installed for PC only, which does not install the hotsync conduit.

Just don't completely uninstall, or that will remove your data.

After closer inspection, I noticed that I have version 4.1.0 on my Tungsten, and version 4.0.0 on my computer. I tried downloading the latest version (4.2.0), but it tells me "The PDACookbook Plus Update installer was unable to locate the correct data path. Please run the full installer for PDACookbook Plus."

I have all of my information on my Tungsten, and it will not sync with the desktop (I'm guessing because of conflicting software?). Can you help?

Is the data on your Palm or PC, or both? I want to make a backup before we run the full installer again.

The data is only on my Palm.

Please send us a copy of your hotsync log. You can post it here or email it to us if you prefer. This will let us tell you what files to backup before running the full installer.

To view your hotsync log...
In the System Tray (usually at the bottom right of your screen), click on the HotSync icon.
Select "View Log," then select your device. The HotSync log opens in a window.
Click and drag to highlight all of the text in the window.
Press Ctrl-C to copy the text.
Paste the text into a reply email.
