I was a registered user on Palm and transitioned to a new PPC device (windows mobile 2003). After syncing the Palm to my PC, I updated to the latest software (including the PPC handheld version). Although ActiveSync indicates that PDAcookbook is synchronized to the handheld, no data (recipes) are transferred to the new device.
When ActiveSync starts, a dialog box pops up telling me to "start the desktop app" to setup the user name. However, on both the desktop and handheld versions, my correct username shows (under the "about" option).
I've tried re-installing the app, but I don't want to lose the data that exists already. Any ideas?

First, backup your data to a safe location, not the default, using the File / Backup menu command.
Next, use the File / Restore menu command. After that, disconnect and reconnect the handheld and let it sync, do this twice. This should force your data to the handheld.
If that does not work, check this link for common sync problem solutions:

If that does not help, please let me know.

Like nmorita I am migrating PDA Cookbook Plus from Palm to PPC, but I'm trying to do so across PC's. After installation on the new system, the program works correctly and synchs the (default) recipes to the Pocket PC.
However, I'm having difficulty getting my own recipe database over into the new system.
If I manually copy either my recipe file alone or the entire group of associated database files from the old PC to the new one, the desktop program will then show my recipes but it won't synch them to the handheld.
What to do?

The best way to do this would be to use the File / Restore on the new computer to restore the recipes copied from the old computer. This will also force them to the handheld the next time you sync.
