View Full Version : Master List editing glitch

When editing a Master List, DI clears all list fields of the currently selected item. On save the item then has blank fields. It is not possible to deselect items.
With inventory in multiple locations it will be a problem trying to recall/re-enter the data for these fields.
I have created an "Edit" item as a temporary work around for this. By selecting this dummy item I can edit Master Lists without destroying current data. The challenge will be to remember to select this item before an edit.
Suggested for future revisions.

What version of DoInventory are you using?
Are you seeing this on the handheld or PC?
If on the handheld, what handheld are you using?
Finally, I am not exactly sure I understood what you are seeing. If you can give the exact steps to duplicate this, then we may be able to get it fixed in the next update.
Thanks.

Hi Shawn -
I hope this helps you duplicate this anomaly. This occurs on the PC.
PC - Windows XP
Handheld - Palm Tungsten E v.4.5.1P
DoInventory - v.3.5/v.3.6 update
Generate items list on left with a record selected and data viewed on the right.
Select Edit Master List - any list - from either the drop down menu or the form button and edit.
When you return to the main screen, all the list fields are blank. Category, Location and Custom fields.
At this point if you modifiy/save, you have modified the data in all these fields unwittingly. It is necessary to regenerate the listing to get the original data back before you can save the data without modifying additional fields.
I just completed a re-install and the anomaly still exists. It's kind of tricky to explain, so I hope I was of more help this time.
Thanks for the quick response!

We have identified the problem and fixed it. We plan to release an update sometime next week, and this fix will be in that update.
Keep an eye on this page for version 3.7.0:
