View Full Version : Blank Spaces

This is my first post here so please excuse any mistakes I might make. I have been using BookBag Plus for a couple of years and I love it but there are a few thing that bother me.

The worst problem I have been unable to resolve is on my Handheld when I sort by Author. I see a list of the titles (for the author) and intermixed are blank spaces. When I touch one of the spaces it opens up a record for that author but the record is for a title that is already listed in a different place on the list. At first I thought it was a duplicate and so I erased the record, unfortunately it also erased the one listed somewhere else.

Could someone please tell me what is going on and how to fix the problem.

Thanks,
Veronica:confused:

One way to try to resolve this is to rebuild the author sort index.

On the handheld, tap the Prefs button from the main list screen, uncheck the author sory box, tap Done. Now, tap the Prefs button again, recheck the author sort box, tap Done. This will rebuild the author index and should clear up any sort or display issues by author.

Thank you for that suggestion, it worked great.

Maybe you could tell me why sorts do not alphabetize the list of books. For instance, when I sort and view by author the list of books that are displayed are not alphabetized, is there a way to change that?

Thanks,
Veronica

The non-author sorts should sort by author as the 2nd sort field.

The author sort should sort by author, then series, then volume, then title. This keeps the series titles together.

Now that I looked I see how sort works. One of the reasons I was confused is that once volume numbers reach double digits - which I have a lot of - they don't go in order. For example:

1
10
11
12
2
3
4
.
.
.

Is there a way to fix this problem?

If you will make sure all values are 2 digits, they should sort such as...

01
02
...
09
10
11
12
etc.

Thanks.
