computer crash!

Our home computer recently crashed and had to be re-formatted. I have been busy reinstalling all of my pda software, and have come to PDA cookbook. I downloaded the latest version, and used my activation code. However, when I HotSync, the desktop version does not connect to the PDA. It still contains the original recipes that came with it, and my handheld contains 161 recipes! How do I get them to communicate? I thought about re-installing PDA cookbook to the PDA, but am afraid of losing the recipes in the handheld. Please help!

First, use the File/Backup menu command to make a backup of your PC data.

Are you running the full installer or the update installer? The full installer should reinstall the hotsync conduit as well.

Finally, do you see anything in the hotsync log that indicates the PDACookbook conduit is running.
