Hi - I am using Audiolist Plus 4.5.7, Palm Desktop 6.2.2 and HotSync Manager 7.0.2 with a treo 650 and find that I have a problem since "upgrading" to the latest Desktop and Hotsync! Syncing Audiolist just "hangs" and will not complete. I have tried all options in Hotsync manager including "do nothing" but cannot seem to resolve the problem.
I would be glad of any ideas on this!

Delete this ONE file on the PC, then hotsync again:
C:\Documents and Settings\Bill Johnson\My Documents\Palm OS Desktop\billco\AudioList\AudioListArtistX.cdb

Hi Shawn - I've done that now and at least the HotSync completes, but it does not synchronise my desktop with the Palm. I have 1905 records on the desktop but only 1891 on the palm. I can identify records I have added to desktop recently which do not appear on the palm. I tried both sync files and desktop overwrites, but no good. Log says files sync'ed successfully!

Your data location may have changed with the new hotsync install.

Please send us this file:
C:\Program Files\AudioList\audiolistplus.ini

That will tell us where the PC software is saving data.

Hi Shawn - a search has failed to find Audiolistplus.ini. The only file found is a config file:
[MAIN]
InstallType=Palm
DataPath=C:\Program Files\Palm\billco\AudioList\
Parameter1=
ImportFile=C:\Documents and Settings\Bill Johnson\My Documents\Jazz LP.csv
ImportOption=0
ImportFields=Artist~~Title~~Notes~~
ImportHeaderRow=0
MP3Combine=1
MP3Artist=0
MP3JPG=1
MP3Option=0

The datapath for the PC software is set to the old value. It changed with the new handheld.

The file you found is the audiolistplus.ini file. Sometimes it will show up as a 'configuration file' type and not show the .ini extension.

Open that file in notepad, and change the DataPath= line to be as follows:
DataPath=C:\Documents and Settings\Bill Johnson\My Documents\Palm OS Desktop\billco\AudioList\

Save the file, then open the desktop software. It should match the palm, and you may have to enter the last few new records again.

Hi Shawn - I did what you suggested, but the file keeps defaulting to the original DataPath and saves the new one as "oldDataPath" as below:
[MAIN]
InstallType=Palm
DataPath=C:\Program Files\Palm\billco\AudioList\
Parameter1=
ImportFile=C:\Documents and Settings\Bill Johnson\My Documents\Jazz LP.csv
ImportOption=0
ImportFields=Artist~~Title~~Notes~~
ImportHeaderRow=0
MP3Combine=1
MP3Artist=0
MP3JPG=1
MP3Option=0
DownloadText=1
OverwriteText=1
DownloadGraphic=1
FormatNames=1
InitialArticles=1
OldDataPath=C:\Documents and Settings\Bill Johnson\My Documents\Palm OS Desktop\billco\AudioList\
[Form]
Left=-60
Top=-60
Width=17400
Height=12630
[Options]
FREEDBMethod=0
UseProxy=0
ProxyPort=0
FREEDBServer=freedb.freedb.org
CDDrive=E
ProperCase=1

I tried deleting the original, but it keeps reinserting it!

OK, this should do it. In the same folder as the .ini file you edit, there should be a caslcopy.log file. Delete all files with names starting with CaslCopy.

Then, edit and change the .ini file again. That should stick this time.

The only ref to CASLcopy seems to be the following text file:

Is this the log file?

Yes, that is the file to delete. It is reading that old userpath line at the start of the file and pointing to the wrong location.

Thanks Shawn - that seems to have done the trick!
