View Full Version : On-going problems

I purchased AutoFile Plus about 20 days ago to use on a new HTC TyTN II device running WM6 Pro.
Unforturnately, I've had nothing but problems with AutoFile. First, I had multiple ActiveSync problems with doubling of data, WCESMgr.exe errors and so on. Subsequently, I have disabled the ActiveSync for AutoFile and have resorted to "Transfer" and "Retrieve" methods from the desktop.
Now, that seems to lead to more problems. It seems that the data within all the "Master Lists" goes away. If you add an item, fuel for instance, the drop-down values are present, but they do not appear in any of the Master Lists section.
Also, if you go into the "Reminder" section, the same reminder shows up regardless of what vehicle you select.
All in all, I'm pretty frustrated with the bugs in this software.
I like the layout and features...... I just wish it would work.
Can anyone shed any light for the future, or should I just move on and search for another product?

We have had reports of the display not being perfect on the newer Windows Mobile devices, but the other issues you mentioned I had not seen before.
We are working very hard now to rewrite our Windows Mobile version. I believe that we will have a major update for AutoFile available just after the end of the year.
I will make sure that these items are addressed in the update. We are having to switch development software, and we won't be able to do much in the way of changes to the old version for these newer devices - thus the rewrite.

One more thing, be sure that you have the latest from:

More information on the Master List problem.
If I transfer the PC data to the handheld, the handheld master lists appear to be okay. Then, after I enter a transaction on the handheld, the master list data dissappears.
Next, I retrieve the data to the PC and repeat the process above.
Any thoughts?

I suspect this is a WM6 issue with our current development package. We are working hard to rewrite the Windows Mobile versions to be completely WM6 compatible. I hope to have something around the first of the year. I will be sure to let you know when we have something available.

I would beg to differ on the matter of "data doubling". I posted a message in the forum on that very subject perhaps six months ago. Like the current poster, I finally just resorted to transferring the records because of the doubling of data elements that was occuring.

I just purchased this program earlier today...I kinda wish I had read this first. I have not gotten far enough to know anything about data disappearing or doubling. I am definately having the experience of ActiveSync crashing every single time since I have downloaded and installed this product.
The program seems so promising. I am a CPA, and this seems like a great way to track auto expenses--I wanted to evaluate it to see if I should tell clients to get it.
Is there an update coming?

The new version is still a few months away, but a complete rewrite for windows mobile should fix all sync issues and allow the software to work on smartphones without a touch screen.

Guys,
it is nice to promise that in few (6, 12, 24 ...???) month there might be solution for the problems. I have bought your software as a tool to remove paper evidence of fuel consumption. Now due to doubling of the records (not only doubling - sometimes double records do not match, so I do not know which one to delete) it is nearly unusable. Also crashes of Active Sync are very unconvinient especially if I'm in hurry and have to restart computer due error in sync.
Therefore I would like to know when You are going to fix it - exact date no longer than 1 month or I would like to get back my money.
Thanks in advance for answer.
